if i remember correctly the 1060 is equal or jst above gtx 980. so its a good deal cos you cannot get a 980 even for 60K.
ill jsut wait at least end of this year so that the things will settle down as well as all the top brands haveing plenty of these cards around the world. (specially the 1070 )

Sad part is the price difference.

RX460 2GB 100$ = $100 x147 = Rs 14700   LK Price =  Rs 22500  Difference Rs.7800
RX460 4GB 129$ = $129 x147 = Rs 18963   LK Price =  Rs 27500  Difference Rs.8537
RX470 4GB 150$ = $150 x147 = Rs 22050   LK Price =  Rs 40000  Difference Rs.17950
RX470 8GB 180$ = $180 x147 = Rs 26460 N/A in SL= Est.Rs42000 Difference Rs.15540
RX480 4GB 200$ = $200 x147 = Rs 29400   LK Price =  Rs 43000  Difference Rs.13600
RX480 8GB 240$ = $240 x147 = Rs 35280   LK Price =  Rs 52000  Difference Rs.16270
GTX1060   250$ = $250 x147 = Rs 36750   LK Price =  Rs 52000  Difference Rs.15250

(I put that SL price for RX 470 8GB version because it must be cheaper than RX480 4GB and Must be expensive than the RX 470 4GB )

Look at that price difference imbalance.
Someone explain this sh!t. Does Sri Lanka Customs calculate tax based on performance or memory? Or Sri lankan PC components sellers just want to rip us off? Specially with that RX470.

Someone explain this sh!t. Does Sri Lanka Customs calculate tax based on performance or memory? Or Sri lankan PC components sellers just want to rip us off? Specially with that RX470.
Let me break this down for you. Don't make assumptions. Here are the MSRPs for the cards.

Sapphire RX 460 2GB - $105
Sapphire RX 460 4GB Nitro - $130
Sapphire RX 470 4GB Nitro - $190
Sapphire RX 470 8GB Nitro - $225
Sapphire RX 480 4GB Nitro - $205
Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro - $250
Palit GTX 960 Dual - $250

See how they are different from what you stated?

Here's a math lesson using the same calculation you did.

Sapphire RX 460 2GB - $105 x 148.5 = 15592
Sapphire RX 460 4GB Nitro - $130 x 148.5 = 19305
Sapphire RX 470 4GB Nitro - $190 x 148.5 = 28125
Sapphire RX 470 8GB Nitro - $225 x 148.5 = 33412
Sapphire RX 480 4GB Nitro - $205 x 148.5 = 30442
Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro - $250 x 148.5 = 37125
Palit GTX 960 Dual - $250 x 148.5 = 37125

These are the prices you'll pay in the US, without adding sales taxes (12%) and shipping, and having no warranty support from the retailer.

Now for local prices.

Sapphire RX 460 2GB - $105 x 148.5 = 15592 - Selling 22000 - 41% higher
Sapphire RX 460 4GB Nitro - $130 x 148.5 = 19305 - Selling 27500 - 42% higher
Sapphire RX 470 4GB Nitro - $190 x 148.5 = 28125 - Selling 40000 - 42% higher
Sapphire RX 470 8GB Nitro - $225 x 148.5 = 33412 - Selling 47500 - 41% higher
Sapphire RX 480 4GB Nitro - $205 x 148.5 = 30442 - Selling 43000 - 41% higher
Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro - $250 x 148.5 = 37125 - Selling 52000 - 40% higher
Palit GTX 960 Dual - $250 x 148.5 = 37125 - Selling 52000 - 40% higher

As you can see, the pricing is pretty consistent. The price difference in higher value products is lower because certain costs such as shipping, transport and clearing charges don't scale with product value.

Next time you want the Sri Lankan price of a graphics card, add approximately ~40% to the USD MSRP before whining about it.

If prices could be lower, why don't you think any of the 6 tier one graphics card brands in the market haven't just dropped prices and steamrolled the competition?

One more thing I need to add. Why just compare the US MSRP? Sri Lankan prices are on par with everywhere else in the world other than the US or China.

EDIT: If at some point those MSRPs change, the prices will be adjusted accordingly. But for now, that's how it stands.

Other thing is US prices are published without tax unlike other most of the countries. Only Amazon US don't have sales tax if you buy from them directly as far as I know.

Who wants a cheap 2K 75Hz IPS monitor?
« Reply #951 on: August 06, 2016, 01:14:53 am »
OK lets try this again, this time without Silva. I also have an updated price.

Dell P2416D

Review

In a nutshell:
23.8" display size (commonly referred to as 24")
AH-IPS Panel with 99% sRGB
2560x1440 (2K) resolution
75Hz refresh rate
8ms response time

Expected price - Rs 39,500/=

With 2k capable graphics cards available brand new for around 40k and used for around 30k, would any of you be interested in investing in a monitor such as this?

75Hz refresh rate

Are you sure it's 75?

This is from the Dell product page:

Optimal resolution:
2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz

And this is from the review link you provided:
A 2560 x 1440 resolution is used alongside a 60Hz refresh rate

If I'm upgrading to a 2k I want it to be at least 27'' (personal preference).
How about this- Dell U2515H Only $10 difference but its look beautiful.
Or this AOC Q2778VQE Looks ugly though.

Are you sure it's 75?
That display runs at 60Hz at default. It seems to be capable of 75Hz after a slight simple overclock.

But this is somewhat concerning, from the linked review,
Quote
Other users have reported receiving units that do not run at 75Hz without frame skipping, so there may be some inter-unit variation going on.
Zer0 is it really ethical to advertise this as a 75Hz display?
And will this overclock have any impact on warranty if things go south during the warranty period while this overclock is applied?

How about this- Dell U2515H Only $10 difference but its look beautiful.
That's still 25" isn't it? Besides there seems to be a 70$ price difference on amazon.

And the physical appearance won't really matter to you after you use it for sometime. You might be upset in the first few weeks but soon you'll be fully immersed in that glorious resolution and amazing color quality. :D

It's already sold by RL for 64k if you check the price list. There's a 70USD difference in Amazon as Lashan already mentioned. For 45k this is a very sweet deal :)
