Is 8th gen compatible with Z200 series motherboards?
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:14:07 am »
I mean both use the same LGA1151 socket doesn't it? Then shouldn't I be able to use my Z270F gaming for it? Or is there a motherboard for the 8th gen within 30k?

Both use LGA1151 but a 8th gen processor wont work with the Z200 chipset. Yes you'll be able to get a basic Z370 motherboard for 30k.

Asrock is right, At the moment the 8th gen processors are only compatible with Z370 chipsets. Check the below content, by Intel,

I could only find the Asus prime z370p to match your budget 🙂

You can get the Gigabyte Z370XP SLI for that price too. But I don't think its worth to swap the 7700 with a 8600K you won't see a massive performance gain in games.
