In terms of spec pretty good. i7 Pavilions comes with either 8 or 16GB RAM IIRC, and it may have some sort of low-end dedicated graphics card. Can't comment on whether you're getting a good deal without knowing the discounted price and model no. They do come with an HDD though so you'll be bottle-necked there in terms of normal productivity.

In general though, the Pavilion series isn't that much of an impressive laptop. Build quality is cheap and the screens tend to be washed out. I know for a fact that in daily use they tend to develop more physical defects than most other laptops, barring Dell's Inspiron series. I have a few friends who use their's daily in school, and the most common problem is that the hinge loosens and the housing around it cracks. The bottom casing warps after a while on some and doesn't fit properly on the chassis. Also, the keyboard and touchpad aren't that great in comparison to similar laptops in that price bracket. Most issues of course can be addressed by the warranty service, but it's up to you whether the time and money spent sending it off for repair is worth it, especially if you intend to use it longer than 3 years.
