« on: November 04, 2016, 11:21:00 am »
Taking the thrill of eSports all around the country, the regional qualifiers of Sri Lanka Cyber Games 2016 kicked off from Galle on the 22nd of October at Hall de Galle. Just as always, the folks of Galle were hyped up and ready to give their best shot to become the champions of the region. In five competitive titles, the cyber-athletes of Galle made sure to give out a stunning performance to make sure they reach the main event in December.

Compared to previous years, an increased number of titles took place calling in even more gamers with interest to more competitive genres. While COD4 once again prevailed as the most demanding title, it was closely followed by enthusiasts of DOTA 2, Project Cars, Mortal Kombat XL, and FIFA 16.

The halls were rumbling with cheers and shouts of new names and clan-less figures. Yet even among them, there were the colorfully attired gamers representing some of the top clans in Sri Lanka. They made sure to live up to their jerseys as well.

After highly competitive rounds of fine Lankan eSports, the following names prevailed as the top from Galle:
  • Call of Duty 4
    Winner – We Own All
    Runner-up – n00b Alliance WalKers
  • DOTA 2
    Winner – X3.Guardianz
    Runner-up – X3.Xenocide
  • FIFA 16
    Winner – Imalka Madushan
    Runner-up – Gayan Paranavithana
  • Mortal Kombal XL
    Winner – nA|DemiGod
    Runner-up – Mohomad Mubarak
  • Project Cars
    Winner – Vinu Pathirana
    Runner-up – Malith Srineth Amarawickrama

While Galle celebrated another season of crowning champions, the attention switched to the North of the country as the first ever Northern Qualifier was held in Jaffna at the KTS eWorld Net Gaming Café on 29th October.

Unlike in Galle, a spark of a fresh scene of eSports was seen in Jaffna. Young hearts with passion for gaming were seen with nothing but sheer thrill and determination to venture into a new experience that have not felt in life. Despite being their first time, the new names from the North displayed some amazing plays to let everyone know that they are not behind the rest.
The fierce battles concluded and the following champions were crowned:
  • Call of Duty 4
    Winner – Team Nopps
    Runner-up – Team Marines
  • DOTA 2
Winner – n00b Alliance freedom squad
    Runner-up – steel 5
  • FIFA 16
    Winner – Thulaxshika S
    Runner-up – Kabilan T

Thus, the champions from North and South have been crowned and they are ready to face the rest of the best at the main event in December. With two down, the heat of SLCG is now heading towards the Central region to seek the uphill gamers.

The days are counting down and the heat is building up. Stay with us for the latest news on our road to The Games Festival!

wow really? on the other hand i have no idea how these are allowed to play internationally and if in such levels macros are allowed then we should adapt the same.
if not then better abandon such things in all local tournaments.

i know that in SC2 such things are not allowed.
